ELITE > My Centre > Click here for more information > Library (from blue menu) > Legal research workshops.

Please note places are limited to 30 students per workshop.

If you are unable to attend the database workshops, there are other sources of help available to you, which you can use in your own time:-

Library Research Guides are available for both Westlaw, and All England, EFP, Halsbury’s Laws, and UK Parliament Acts and Sis (LexisLibrary).  You can download them via ELITE > My Library > Research Support > Research Guides.

Online Tutorials are also available on both Westlaw and LexisLibrary.  They are very useful guides showing how to use the databases.  You can find them on the databases in the Help and Tutorials sections.  ELITE > My Library > Databases > Westlaw or LexisLibrary.  Alternatively, please click here for the Westlaw Training Tutorial.

Westlaw and LexisLibrary also have Student Representatives who work on campus to support students using the databases.  Sam Wallis is the Westlaw Representative, and Paul Shephard is the Lexis Representative.  Both Sam and Paul will be advertising their services to students soon.

The Lawtel database will be relaunched with a new interface on Monday 28 September.

Lawtel contains summaries and transcripts of selected cases from 1980.  It also indexes journal articles and tracks the progress of selected bills.  It also offering daily email alerts covering cases, legislation and articles.

You’ll find a link to Lawtel in the Databases section of My Library on Elite.

Your student associates for this year are:
