We would like to introduce ourselves as your new Information Officers: Jackie Hanes (Monday and Tuesday) and David Pratt (Wednesday to Friday).  If you have any queries, the best way to contact us is via the general library email address (library.brm@lawcol.co.uk) and telephone number 01483 216041.  Alternatively, if you would like to meet with us, please pop into the library office – there’s no need for an appointment.

Jackie Hanes ”I have worked in the Library at the College of Law in Birmingham since it opened in 2001.  I have recently returned to work after a 15 month absence on maternity leave.  I am a professionally qualified and chartered librarian, with over 12 years experience of library and information work.  If you would like to contact me directly, my personal email address is Jackie.Hanes@lawcol.co.uk and my direct telephone number is 01483 216012″. My working days are Monday and Tuesdays (my colleague David works Wed to Fri).

David Pratt joined the College of Law in January 2010. I am a professionally qualified librarian, and have worked for a number of years in a range of public and specialist library environments. My personal email address is David.Pratt@lawcol.co.uk and my direct phone number is 01483 216012, and I work Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Today, Friday 14 November, is my last day at work before starting maternity leave.  My baby is due in mid-December, and I am planning to take 12 months off work, and looking forward to having a lie-in on Monday morning!  I have known some of you for only a few weeks, and others for many years now.  I would like to thank you all for your words of support, and to wish you all the best during the rest of your time at College and beyond.

The College has appointed Natasha Skeen as Acting Information Officer to cover my maternity leave.  Natasha is a qualified and experienced librarian, and I am confident the library service is in capable hands.  Natasha was most recently employed as a Learning Resources Manager at a local high school, but has previously worked in the Harding Law Library at Birmingham University.

Natasha starts work on Monday 24 November, which leaves the library without an Information Officer for 1 week.  During this time, Renu Rajput, your full-time Information Assistant, will ensure the library service operates as normal.  However, please note that the library will open 1/2 hour later, at 9.00am during this week.  Please refer to the post below for further information on library opening hours.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but assure you it is only temporary during the changeover period.
