New Books November 2009

Now that the panic of PLR (LPC) and Legal Research (BVC) is over and Christmas is nearly upon us you may be interested in doing a little light reading.  The following titles, although about law, require no note taking, paper or electronic research and are also available to borrow:

  Author/Title Classmark
   J. Herring.  The Woman Who Tickled Too Much.

This book gives true accounts of real life stories within Britain’s Law courts, giving an insight into the difficult questions and decisions our legal institutions deal with everyday.

 LITR
   T. Kevan.  Baby Barista and the Art of War.

Based upon the blog the author writes for The Times, this is a fictional account of life within the legal profession; it’s main character being a pupil barrister in chambers.

 LITR
   M. Mansfield.  Memoirs of a Radical Lawyer.

Mansfield has taken on some of the most difficult and challenging cases of our times and won plenty. In ‘Memoirs of a Radical Lawyer’ he dissects many of them, revealing his motivations, cross examination techniques, subtlety and charm.
