If you were a student at the College last year, you may be wondering where the Library’s toilets have gone? They were removed during the summer vacation, and have been replaced by a storeroom. Your nearest toilets are now located on the 1st floor - take the corridor on your left at the top of the stairs.
The Library will be running a series of legal research workshops in early September. The workshops are designed to support LPC students with their Practical Legal Research, but they are open to all students who wish to attend.
The first workshop is an introduction to printed legal research using Halsbury’s Laws, Halsbury’s Statutes, Current Law and the Digest. The second workshop is an introduction to electronic legal research using LexisNexis Butterworths and Westlaw databases.
Printed legal research workshops:
- 11.00am-12.00pm Monday 8 September
- 2.00pm-3.00pm Monday 8 September
- 11.00am-12.00pm Tuesday 9 September
- 2.00pm-3.00pm Tuesday 9 September
- 5.00pm-6.00pm Wednesday 17 September
- 11.00am-12.00pm Thursday 18 September
- 4.45pm-5.45pm Thursday 18 September
Electronic legal research workshops:
The workshops are voluntary, but places are limited to 20 students per session. If you would like to attend a workshop, please contact the library to sign up. You can contact the library in person, or by telephone (01483 216041) or email (library.brm@lawcol.co.uk).
Please note that only students who sign up can attend the workshop. Also, students who sign up, are expected to attend workshops, or give notice of cancellation, so that their place may be offered to another.
This weekend, the Library’s opening hours are:
- Saturday 30 August: 12.00pm-6.00pm
- Sunday 31 August: 12.00pm-6.00pm
The College building will open from 8.30am, but the Library will open at 12.00pm (noon).

- Monday-Thursday: 8.30am-8.00pm
- Friday: 8.30am-6.00pm
- Saturday-Sunday: 12.00pm-5.00pm
The library’s opening hours are extended for GDL and LPC study weekends. Please see weekly postings for details, or contact the library if you would like a list for the year ahead.
